On October 21, 2023, Kifayat Publishers hosted an educational conference, EnvisionED Summit, at the Marriot Hotel in Karachi. The summit brought together educationists and leadership from over 100 organizations across Pakistan. Dr. Ishrat Husain, a stalwart in education and policy reform, gave the keynote address and Professor Fernando Remiers, from Harvard University, delivered a hearfelt message on meaningful learning, to initiate the summit.
Participants shared their insights on the future of education and discussed strategies to meet the changing needs of learners. The summit covered topics such as student happiness, the evolving role of teachers and 21st century skills.
Aga Khan University Institute of Educational Development, Beacon Light Academy, Habib Public School, HHS School System, Froebel’s High School and Khadija Kazi Ali Memorial High School were among the schools that participated and partnered in the summit.
The summit included multiple workshops, panel discussions and training sessions that equipped school leaders and educationists with innovative strategies and best practices, the ultimate goal being to create a more progressive classroom environment.
During the summit, Maryam Faruqi Research Centre (MFRC) members presented their research proposals to the faculty and researchers at AKU-IED and received invaluable feedback and insights. The members remain committed to sharing their research findings with peers and the broader educational community. This research will contribute to the improvement of teaching practices and student outcomes worldwide.
